Melvich Beach

Melvich beach is the most attractive beach at the mouth of the River Halladale.

Bounded to the east by the River Halladale and to the west by rocky outcrops, this beautiful expanse of golden sands can be reached in a short 100 m walk through the dunes.

Melvich Beach, lies at the head of the bay. It can be reached from the village by a signposted track which leads to a parking area just above the dunes. On the eastern side of the bay is Bighouse Lodge.

Melvich Bay beach is a small stretch of unspoilt sand backed by grass covered dunes. The bay has rocky outcrops to the west with a small concrete pier and the river Halladale in the east.
